& COMMITMENT

There is not one way to hit. Being open-minded about all the different aspects that make up a swing is what makes a great hitter. Grip. Feel. Bat angle. Hand position. Stride. Timing. Mental approach.

Finding your swing doesn't need to be overcomplicated. Too often, hitters are forced to hit one specific way, even when that way has already proven not to work for them. Sometimes the answer is simple: try the opposite.

Hitting is a process of trial and error. Experimentation. Fail. Learn. Adjust. Try again. Failure is the information we need to get where we're trying to go. Bad swings are good because they teach us what not to do.

My job is to help hitters understand what their options are, experiment with different combinations, and discover what works best for them. Every hitter I work with will not find the same swing or the same combination. But they will learn the same process and develop the same mindset for finding what works for them, and, most importantly, knowing how to find it again when they lose it.

That's the goal. Not to give hitters my swing, like every other coach and parent does, but to teach them how to find theirs.

I will never force a hitter to hit one specific way. But I will force every hitter to try. Because you can't find your swing without testing your options.

Excellence isn't a slogan here. It's a standard I hold myself to before I ever ask it of a player. That means showing up prepared for every lesson, treating a 9-year-old's first session with the same intensity as a college prospect's, and never letting a player leave the cage without knowing exactly what he did well and exactly what we're attacking next.

I commit to being honest with you. If your swing needs work, I'll tell you. If you're ready for the next level, I'll tell you that too. Development doesn't come from empty praise. It comes from truth, reps, and a coach who refuses to let you settle.

And I commit to caring about the person as much as the player. The heart and the hustle matter more than the box score. If we build those, the results take care of themselves.
